How to Provide Artwork
Digital Files. While placing your order, an option is provided to upload your art files prior to adding the item to your cart. Some products also have a designer tool available to create your desired art or collage . If you don’t have your art files at the time of order, you can also reply to the confirmation email you will receive and attach your art file to the email. Replying to the confirmation email ensures that we can match your artwork to the specific order you’ve placed.
Forgot to send your files? Not to worry! Simply wait for one of our Customer Care Representatives to contact you after your order is placed & email your files at that point.
Send Special Instructions. There is a box for special instructions on the checkout page. Feel free to give us any information you think we need. Remember, artwork preparation is FREE and you’ll receive a digital mockup for your approval prior to production.
Accepted File Types
Just send us what you have and we’ll work with you on the rest one-on-one. Keep in mind that to keep your order moving as fast as possible, vector file formats are ideal. Note: Changing the file name to a different file extension will not change the file type.
Preferred Vector File Types
- PDF (Adobe Acrobat) Embed any fonts used or include fonts
- AI or EPS (Adobe Illustrator) Convert text to outlines or include fonts, embed any linked images
- PSD (Adobe Photoshop) Convert text to outlines or include fonts, embed any linked images
Other Accepted File Types
- RASTER (.jpg, .tif, .png)
Your file must be at least 150 dpi or vector art. If your image is below 150dpi, please do not simply increase the resolution. This will result in a very blurry, pixelated image. Ideal full color artwork will be 300dpi or higher at the size it will be printed. When images are taken from a website, they are typically 72 dpi and not appropriate for printing purposes.
Raster vs Vector
Raster graphics, sometimes called bitmap images, are a dot matrix data structure, representing a generally rectangular grid of pixels, or points of color, viewable via a monitor, paper, or other display medium. Raster graphics can not be enlarged without loss of quality. Examples of raster file types include JPG and PNG formats.
Vector files are a fully editable format made of points. This file type can be edited in any manner including text and shapes without loss of quality. Examples of vector file types include AI and PSD formats.
Copyright & Trademark
Photography and graphics are also automatically protected under federal Copyright laws at creation and taking graphics off the internet can result in legal troubles. A good rule of thumb is if you didn’t take the photo or create the artwork or you did not acquire a license for the image, do not use it. We will only print photos or designs that are created by or licensed to you. If we find that the file submitted has questionable ownership, we may ask you to provide documentation showing that you have a legal right to use the image. We offer custom products for you to create your own design right on our website or alternatively, we can create a custom design for you. If you would like Untamed, LLC to create your very own custom design, please contact us!
